Locking Blade Nail with patented blade support

Intramedullary nail osteosynthesis of the proximal humerus

The patented triangle of forces between nail and blade makes the LBN system from Marquardt Medizintechnik unique. The Locking Blade Nail achieves a higher primary stability due to the additional blade support on the medial column. The blade is also a support for the calotte fragment during abduction.

Secure fixation of humeral fractures

Flexible concept

The nail can be used with or without an additional blade. An integrated screw lock made of PEEK fixes the screw in the nail and prevents implant loosening.

LBN for secure fixation of humerus fractures

Blade Fixation Screws

The blade fixation screws hold the blade in position over the lateral cortex and the nail.

PEEK insert

Provides secure fixation of the screw in the nail.

Blade/ triangle of forces

Provides secure fixation of the screw in the nail.

Distal nail diameter

Tapering of the nail to 6.5 mm at the distal end for easier insertion of the nail in tight medullary canals.
Special features of Marquardt's LBN

Anterior chamfer

Head locking screws

The 5.0 mm head locking screws provide a secure fit in the humeral head, even without a blade

Modular washer

The modular washer provides a secure, form-fitting transmission of forces to the cortex. Additional suture holes offer the possibility to fix the rotator cuff.
